WXPN GM Roger LaMay Elected To NPR Board

ROGER LAMAY, GM of UNIV. OF PENNSYLVANIA Triple A WXPN/PHILADELPHIA, has been elected as a Member Director of the NPR (National Public Radio) Board.
The announcement by NPR was made on AUGUST 14th to its member stations. LAMAY was elected by authorized representatives of NPR member stations to a three-year term beginning in NOVEMBER 2012.
LAMAY said of the appointment, "As manager of a music station, it’s a rare honor to serve on the board. I look forward to focusing on the considerable contribution that NPR makes to our country’s music, arts and culture."
A 30-plus-year broadcast veteran, LAMAY joined WXPN in JANUARY 2003. He previously served as GM and news director of Fox29/WTXF-TV in PHILADELPHIA. While at FOX, he served as a WXPN Policy Board member for five years, and was instrumental in many station initiatives. He is a past President of the PHILADELPHIA chapter of the NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS & SCIENCES and a national trustee. He holds a Master of Science degree in Organizational Dynamics from the UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from SKIDMORE COLLEGE.
