CBS RADIO News WNEW/WASHINGTON morning co-anchor BILL REHKOPF is returning to his former station, News-Talk KDKA-A/PITTSBURGH, as afternoon host of the station's revamped "KDKA Afternoon News" 3-7p (ET), beginning SEPTEMBER 24th. With REHKOPF's return, ROSE RYAN-DOUGLAS remains on board as anchor of the news portions of the afternoon block.
REHKOPF, who anchored the news on KDKA's morning show for five years before joining NEW for that station's sign-on earlier this year, said, “Working in the nation’s capital was extremely exciting and rewarding. However, my family and I have deep roots in PITTSBURGH, and this is a terrific opportunity at KDKA. It’s a perfect professional fit for me, and works well for my family. I look forward to providing PITTSBURGH with a quality program of essential news, information and entertainment to wrap up their work day.”
SVP & Market Manager MICHAEL YOUNG said, “BILL’s an incredible talent. His knowledge of the market and sharp news judgment made him the perfect choice to follow in the great tradition of afternoon programming on the legendary KDKA.”
PD JIM GRACI added, “Listeners can expect BILL to tie it all together and present a great informative and entertaining product."
