Condolences to family and friends of longtime CBC radio newsman BOB JOHNSTONE, who died SUNDAY (9/2) at BAYCREST HOSPITAL in TORONTO from cancer at 82.
JOHNSTONE, who started in print journalism at the CANADIAN PRESS, TORONTO TELEGRAM, and TORONTO STAR, was best known for his "TODAY IN HISTORY" feature airing on CBC radio. He also was one of the original reporters on CBC television's "THE FIFTH ESTATE." A book of transcripts of his radio feature was released in 1998.
