COMMUNITY BROADCASTERS Classic Hits WEFX (THE FOX)/ WATERTOWN, NY has flipped to New Country. WEFX will now be known as “100.7 THE EAGLE” and showcase current new music by artists such as KENNY CHESNEY, TIM MCGRAW, TAYLOR SWIFT and CARRIE UNDERWOOD.
Company Pres. JAMES L. LEVIN had formerly launched Country station WLFK “THE WOLF” in a nearby county a few years prior, and was impressed by the listenership that station had gained. “Our experience with THE WOLF put me in a position to have a Country station in WATERTOWN. It’s an exceptionally popular station that has generated more listeners than we planned. It’s going to be hot and almost exclusively new. The music and shows are always upbeat and a lot of fun,” said LEVIN.
100.7 THE EAGLE kicked off the format change at 12p (ET) on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4th with a 2000 song marathon. The station plans regularly scheduled programming to begin on MONDAY (9/10) morning with the BIG D & BUBBA Show, followed by DUSTY MAC in middays, JUSTIN CASE handling afternoons, THE BIG TIME WITH WHITNEY ALLEN in nights, and AFTER MIDNITE WITH BLAIR GARNER on overnights.
PD LANCE HALE and Production Dir. KEN MARTIN will ensure that the station’s sound is continuous, upbeat and current.
