WNYC Shuffles Schedule

Changes

NEW YORK PUBLIC RADIO noncommercial News-Talk WNYC-A-F/NEW YORK's addition of the returning game show "ASK ME ANOTHER" (NET NEWS 9/6) is just one of several schedule changes for the station, and the full extent of the changes, effective SEPTEMBER 15th, was revealed this weekend.

The FM side's SATURDAY afternoon lineup will include syndicated shows "WAIT, WAIT DON'T TELL ME," "RADIOLAB," "THIS AMERICAN LIFE" and "THE MOTH," as well as "ASK ME ANOTHER."  JONATHAN SCHWARTZ' afternoon show moves to evenings following "A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION."  "SELECTED SHORTS is also moving from SATURDAYs to SUNDAYs at 10p, and  "THE SPLENDID TABLE" is being added for SUNDAY mornings..

Other changes on the FM side include a checkerboard schedule for 8p weeknights including "STUDIO 360" on MONDAYs, "THIS AMERICAN LIFE" on TUESDAYs, "THE MOTH" on WEDNESDAYs, "RADIOLAB" on THURSDAYs, and "ON THE MEDIA" on FRIDAYs; the return of "SOUNDCHECK" at 9p weeknights; the continuation of the CBC's "Q WITH JIAN GHOMESHI" at 9p after its SUMMER run; the addition of SLATE's "GABFEST RADIO" for SATURDAYs at 7a and SUNDAYs at 6p and "SNAP JUDGMENT" on SUNDAY nights; and the move of "SMILEY AND WEST" to 7p SUNDAYs.

On the AM side, the station is adding an additional hour of NPR's "WEEKEND EDITION SATURDAY" at 10-11a,
