The FCC has denied former KWOD/SACRAMENTO owner ED STOLZ's petition to deny license renewals for several ENTERCOM stations, including Sports KCTC-A (ESPN 1320) and Alternative KKDO (RADIO 94.7)/SACRAMENTO; Hot AC KRSK (105.1 THE BUZZ) and Classic Rock KGON/PORTLAND; and Top 40 WKRZ-WKRF/SCRANTON-WILKES BARRE.
The objections stemmed from STOLZ' long-running feud with ENTERCOM over the latter's acquisition of KWOD; the Commission ruled that STOLZ lacked standing to challenge the renewals but also ruled on the merits, rejecting STOLZ' allegations of ownership rule violations (which involved KWOD, not the stations being renewed) and payola (settled with a consent decree in NEW YORK).
The Commission also dismissed 550 INVESTMENTS, LLC's application for a facility change for a new AM at RENO, NV because the nighttime proposal involves excessive interference with the signal of OREGON PUBLIC BROADCASTING noncommercial News-Talk KOAC-A/CORVALLIS, OR.
