PLATEAU MUSIC Pres./CEO TONY MANTOR has named AL ABRAMS to the position of Exec. Dir./National Media for the company. ABRAMS' first project will be to direct the media campaign for the label's brand new release from BOBBY BROOKS WILSON, son of the R&B legend JACKIE WILSON.
"I had the good fortune of meeting JACKIE WILSON and seeing him perform at the old ALLEN THEATRE in CLEVELAND, and 50 years later worked with BOBBY when he portrayed his late father in the musical 'Memories of Motown' stage show at the ESTREL THEATRE in BERLIN in 2009," said ABRAMS. "The resemblance, the vocal inflections, the mannerisms are uncanny."
Abrams, who started his career in 1959 as the first employee of what was to become BERRY GORDY JR.'s MOTOWN RECORD CORPORATION adds, "I am delighted to be able to work with BOBBY again. He is a tremendous talent and this CD will let the rest of the world know what an amazing voice he has. BOBBY has an incredible vocal range and he is far more than just his father's man."
