Mike Francesa's On-Air Nap Goes Viral, Worldwide

CBS RADIO Sports WFAN-A/NEW YORK afternoon host MIKE FRANCESA may wish today that his show was not simulcast daily on cable TV's YES NETWORK, now that his momentary nap while on the air has gone viral with international media coverage.

While talking to the station's YANKEES beat reporter SWEENY MURTI on the phone, FRANCESA, shown on split screen on the YES simulcast, is seen first to appear to be reading something, then to obviously nod off, leaning forward past the mic with his eyes closed while MURTI speaks, snapping awake when MURTI refers to him by name.

Coverage of the incident has appeared in places as diverse as DEADSPIN.COM (where FRANCESA's sudden awakening is immortalized in an animated GIF)  and YAHOO! SPORTS to BRITAIN's DAILY TELEGRAPH and AUSTRALIA's NINE NETWORK.
