The previously-announced sale by WMUU, INC. (GOSPEL FELLOWSHIP ASSOCIATION/BOB JONES UNIVERSITY-affiliated) of Beautiful Music/Religion WMUU-F to SALEM COMMUNICATIONS' CARON BROADCASTING, INC. has been filed with the FCC, and the price, previously undisclosed, is $3 million ($1 million cash, $2 million in a promissory note). SALEM is flipping the station to Talk.
In other deals filed with the FCC, SNAVELY BROADCASTING COMPANY, LLC is selling Classic Country WIXI-A/JASPER, AL to RIVERA COMMUNICATIONS, LLC for $132,000.
CALVARY IOWA CITY is selling the construction permit for noncommercial KMQC/BETHANY, MO to CALVARY CHAPEL BETHANY, INC. for $10.
COMMUNITY PUBLIC RADIO, INC. has filed for a Silent STA for WIVL/JASPER, GA because the station has lost its studio lease.
PENFOLD COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has requested a Silent STA for WKJA/BRUNSWICK, OH due to storm damage and problems with a back-up transmitter.
SALT AND LIGHT MEDIA MINISTRIES, INC. has asked for a Silent STA for FM translator W220BE/ST. CLAIR, PA, correcting an oversight in which, because of brief operation in MAY, the licensee inadvertently filed for an extension of a previous STA rather than for a new one.
VOLUSIA BROADCASTING COMPANY, LLC has filed for an extension of its Silent STA for FM translator W284AV/DELTONA, FL while it continues to work to restore operations of the station.
MICHAEL PIAZZA, LLC has requested a Silent STA for FM translator K257CD/PHOENIX due to loss of a power source at the site.
MAIN STREET COMMUNICATIONS, LLC has closed on the transfer of Country KIMB-A/KIMBALL, NE to VIC MICHAEL's LARAMIE MOUNTAIN BROADCASTING, L.L.C. for forgiveness of a $100,000 promissory note.
EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of FM translator W235AO/CLEVELAND, TN to TENNESSEE TEMPLE UNIVERSITY for $40,000.
And DAVID STEWART has closed on the sale of FM translator K287AT/SAN ANGELO, TX to JIM BOB MEASURES for $25,000 ($8,000 down, $8,000 at closing, $9,000 in a promissory note).
