Midwest Communications Buys Radio Fargo-Moorhead Stations

In a deal yet to be filed at the FCC, MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS is buying JIM INGSTAD's RADIO FARGO-MOORHEAD cluster of stations for an undisclosed price. The stations include Talk KFGO-A, Sports KVOX-A, Country KBVB (BOB 95 FM), Top 40 WDAY-F (Y94), Talk KRWK (101.9 TALK FM), and Adult Hits KMJO (104.7 POPSTER FM)/FARGO-MOORHEAD.
In a press release, INGSTAD said, "It’s been an honor the last six years to be part of the best broadcast team I’ve ever had the privilege to work with. I consider DUKE WRIGHT and MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS to be one of the finest broadcasters in the country and I know DUKE and his team will continue the tradition of excellent broadcasting with the RADIO FARGO-MOORHEAD group."
WRIGHT, President of MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS, said, "We are a family-owned and operated broadcast company with over 54 years in the radio business. We have had a long-term interest in getting involved in NORTH DAKOTA radio and we have family in FARGO. The RADIO FARGO-MOORHEAD properties are among the top rated facilities in the country. We are very excited about becoming involved with these great radio stations."
In FCC filings, ALEX MEDIA, INC. is selling the construction permit for WURB/CROSS CITY, FL to URBAN ONE BROADCASTING NETWORK, LLC for $325,000.
JOURNAL BROADCAST CORP. is selling Classic Country daytimer WKTI-A/POWELL-KNOXVILLE, TN to WMCH RADIO, INC. for $65,000.
XANA DUKE RADIO PARTNERS, LLC is selling Country KZBG/LAPWAI, ID, Oldies KZID/CULDESAC, ID, and FM translator K247AW/LEWISTON, ID to NELLY BROADCASTING, LLC; the buyer is owned by JAMES C. and DARCY NELLY, and JAMES is a 33.3% owner of the seller and is buying out his partners.
MMTC BROADCASTING LLC has requested an extension of its Silent STA for KYHN-A/FT SMITH, AR while it completes the sale of the station to KIM GIRDNER's MS. KIM MEDIA, LLC for $50,000.
JUPITER PLANET RADIO, LLC has closed on the sale of Oldies WJBW-A/JUPITER, FL to JOHNSON NAPOLEON's AZURE MEDIA, LLC for $305,000.
And SUNRIVER BROADCASTING CORP. d/b/a FIELDS POND GROUP has closed on the sale of Top 40 KXIX (POWER 94)/SUNRIVER-BEND, OR to GROSS COMMUNICATIONS CORP./GCC BEND, LLC for $833,000 plus $15,000 of "bartered assets in the BEND, OREGON area."
