The end of the world having been put on hold for now, HAROLD CAMPING's FAMILY STATIONS, INC. is back in an acquisition mode, returning to the PHILADELPHIA market with the purchase of WPEN-A from GREATER MEDIA's GREATER PHILADELPHIA RADIO, INC. for $8.5 million. The station is the AM half of a mostly-simulcast pairing with Sports WPEN-F (97.5 THE FANATIC), splitting for some play-by-play as "950 ESPN." FAMILY STATIONS-owned Religion WKDN/CAMDEN-PHILADELPHIA for decades before selling the station this year to MERLIN MEDIA, which flipped the FM facility to Talk as WWIQ (IQ 106.9).
In other filings with the FCC, WRVM, INC. is selling FM translator W265BF/TOMAHAWK, WI to ALBERT BROADCASTING II LLC for $25,000. The translator will simulcast Sports WJJQ-A/TOMAHAWK.
MEMPHIS FIRST VENTURES, LP has applied for an extension of its Silent STA for FM translator W299BJ/MILLINGTON, TN while it relocates.
WORLD RADIO LINK, INC. has filed for an extension of its Silent STA for FM translator W280EE/LEWES, DE while it awaits closing on its sale and a move to a new facility.
And MSG RADIO, INC. has closed on the sale of Spanish Top 40/Rhythmic WTOK-F (HOT 102)/SAN JUAN (formerly WIAC-F) to WIAC-FM, INC.,
