HALL COMMUNICATIONS Country WCTK (CAT COUNTRY 98.1)/PROVIDENCE, RI is holding a father/daughter dance on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15th from 6-9p (ET) at the RHODES on the PAWTUXET in CRANSTON, RI. The ‘SADIE HAWKINS DANCE,’ is open to girls from grades 1-6 at CRANSTON PUBLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. The dance comes on the heels of nationwide press attention for the town, on a decision to ban all father/daughter dances and mother/son ballgames in the city of CRANSTON.
“We have received an influx of calls and emails from our listeners, who are emotionally charged over this ruling,” said WCTK PD BOB WALKER. “We sympathize with the residents of CRANSTON, who feel that they have been deprived of this time-honored tradition. CAT COUNTRY is deeply rooted in the lives of the community, and we wanted to use our available resources to ease the frustration felt by the Superintendent’s decision.”
Performing at the dance will be MERCURY NASHVILLE artist SCOTTY MCCREERY. Reach out to BOB WALKER at bobwalker@wctk.com.
