GREAT EASTERN RADIO Rock WKKN/KEENE, NH has flipped to Country format, picking up the simulcast broadcast from sister station Country WXXK (KIXX 100.5)/LEBANON, NH. The format hit WKKN’s airwaves beginning at 8a (ET) TODAY (10/1).
WKKN’s Rock website is currently still active, however is no longer streaming music online. GREAT EASTERN RADIO’s Director Of Programming JUSTIN TYLER tells ALL ACCESS that all of WKKN’s air staff has been let go, except for ELISE VALENTINE, who will be doing a WXXK shift from the KEENE, NH studios.
Other staff changes includes the addition of JIM BOSH to WXXK and WKKN. BOSH, who formerly hosted mornings at CLEAR CHANNEL Country WWYZ/HARTFORD, will take on the dual duties of PD and Morning Co-host with AMY BEAULIEU.
“The moves we are making will solidify KIXX 100.5 as the market leader for Country music in NEW HAMPSHIRE and VERMONT. We are looking forward to extending NASHVILLE to all of the Country music fans in KEENE, NH, BRATTLEBORO, VT, and the surrounding areas. We have a chance now to solidify ourselves as THE number one station for Country in the area,” said JUSTIN TYLER. Speaking on the addition of BOSH, TYLER continued, “This move shows our commitment to the community and delivering the best on-air product possible.”
This simulcast now gives KIXX 100.5 the largest coverage area for any Country station in VERMONT and western NEW HAMPSHIRE.
