Radio Contraband's Convention Picks 2012 Rock and Radio Winners

Last Friday 9/28 The RADIO CONTRABAND ROCK RADIO CONVENTION 2012 at the MANDALAY BAY RESORT in LAS VEGAS, NV finished off its first industry event with its second annual Active Rock Radio & Record Awards.

The big winners in the Radio field were WMMR/PHILADELPHIA and WJJO/MADISON, which respectively walked away with awards for the Major and Medium-Market Stations of the Year, and their PDs, BILL WESTON (WMMR) and RANDY HAWKE (WJJO) won awards for the Major and Medium market PDs of the year. WMMR's SEAN "THE RABBI" TYSZLER also walked away with the Major-Market MD of the Year award.

In the Record category, ROADRUNNER RECORDS won big for the Major Label of the Year for Rock along with its VP/Promo MARK ABRAMSON who won the award for Promotion Executive Of The Year. Prospect Park's FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH won the award for Song Of The Year ("Coming Down") and Album of The Year ("American Capitalist") respectively. Here is a complete list of this years winners:
