THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER is reporting that music from the forthcoming ABC-TV drama “NASHVILLE” will be released by BIG MACHINE LABEL GROUP. GRAMMY® winning producer T BONE BURNETT will serve as the Executive Music Producer for the series.
The series premieres next WEDNESDAY (10/10) at 10/9p (CT), and will feature between three and seven musical performances per episode. At least one song per week will be released to ABC's MUSIC LOUNGE and iTUNES. Additionally, "Telescope," which series star HAYDEN PANETTIERE sings in the second episode, will be the first song sent to Country radio.
In addition to new songs penned by some of MUSIC CITY’s top songwriters, the series will also feature classics such as TAMMY WYNETTE’s "Stand By Your Man" and JOHN CONLEE’s "Rose Colored Glasses."
"We are very selective of where and how we place our music into visual media. Music has to feel organic, appropriate and authentic when it is paired with on-camera visuals. When I saw the pilot for 'NASHVILLE,' I knew instantly we needed to be part of it. Not only does our partnership make sense given how closely the show reflects the nature of the music business, but the show's talent has created some incredible music. We look forward to working with all of the amazing actors and actresses on the show," said President and CEO of BIG MACHINE LABEL GROUP, SCOTT BORCHETTA.
BORCHETTA adds that he plans to wait and see how “NASHVILLE’s” ratings are, before announcing plans for a full soundtrack album.
