The second annual JOHNNY CASH MUSIC FESTIVAL was held on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5th on the campus of ARKANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY in JONESBORO, AR and raised over $200,000 according to the show’s executive producer, BILL CARTER. Among the featured artists this year were CAPITOL NASHVILLE artist DIERKS BENTLEY, WILLIE NELSON, THE CIVIL WARS, ROSANNE CASH and TOMMY CASH.
Proceeds from this year’s event will fund the restoration of the JOHNNY CASH BOYHOOD HOME in DYESS, AR, as well as support a scholarship fund established in the JOHNNY CASH’S name. The overall goal is to establish CASH’S home as a museum to honor his legacy.
Plans are already underway for next year’s event, which will mark the 10th anniversary of CASH’S death
