The story is set at the fictional LAUREL LAKE, and revolves around main character TANYA SMITH and her last SUMMER - the SUMMER of MARIE- at the lake. Today, TANYA is a confident, successful music promoter -- a far cry from the naive 17-year-old who showed up at the lake, full of rosy notions of first love, lifelong friendships, and evenings spent sipping strawberry wine on the shore.
