WNRW Presents Cody Simpson To Text-Winning High School

CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WNRW (98.9 RADIO NOW)/LOUISVILLE, which recently raised $3,000 for the NATIONAL BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION from its "Bras Across the Bluegrass" event (NET NEWS, 10/4), invited ATLANTIC RECORDS artist CODY SIMPSON to perform at SACRED HEART ACADEMY high school, which won the private concert after winning a text-to-win contest the week before.

SACRED HEART ACADEMY logged the most votes out of 359,000 incoming texts over the course of the week.  "I’m actually surprised that our text message system handled the workload," PD JONATHAN SHUFORD said. "By the end of the week we were getting something like 10,000 texts an hour ... it was out of control." 

CODY performed for 900 Catholic school girls in their gym, meet a few students, and presented the school with an autographed backdrop from his last tour.  He was also asked to the prom. A local LOUISVILLE TV station got some great footage of the event.
