ARBITRON's Radio Advisory Council reported on the results of this week's meeting this morning, with Chairman DON BENSON and Vice Chair CRAIG JACOBUS hosting the briefing.
BENSON began the meeting with news that YESTERDAY's (10/17) meeting elected a new Chairman for the Radio Advisory Council, with SOUTH CENTRAL BROADCASTING Pres. CRAIG JACOBUS moving up to Chairman, and HUBBARD BROADCASTING/WASHINGTON, D.C. SVP/Market Mgr. JOEL OXLEY elected Vice Chair.
Sample size was the next topic was the ongoing work to improve PPM sample size. BENSON said "good work has been done" on that front, but the "concern over sample size still exists, and we are not there yet."
ARBITRON reported to the council that they have updated their total line reporting policy, with the changes in effect for PPM users and a SUMMER '12 target for diary users.
PROJECT LEAPFROG, ARBITRON's "New Experimental Approach To Measuring Mid-Sized And Small Markets," was updated by JACOBUS, who said a new test of the project would happen "in the next few weeks," and would likely be ready for Q1. JACOBUS noted a "new interface," with "functionality that was much improved."
Finally an update to TAPSCAN, which BENSON said is up to version 11.0, and features "a bundle of improvements." The software is said to be available this SATURDAY (10/20).
