ENTERCOM Sports WEEI-F/BOSTON morning sports update anchor JON METERPAREL has exited the station.

The BOSTON GLOBE reports that METERPAREL told listeners FRIDAY that "it's time for me to move on from WEEI. My goal when I came here was to become an important part of the (DENNIS AND CALLAHAN morning) show and I think I achieved that, but I also want to do more play-by-play. Full-time play-by-play has always been my No. 1 goal and I think it's time to make it happen."

METERPAREL will continue to call BOSTON COLLEGE football and basketball.
