Chaparral Sells Eight Full-Power Stations, Six Translators To Rich Broadcasting

JERROLD T. LUNDQUIST's CHAPARRAL BROADCASTING, INC. is selling eight full-power FMs and six translators in IDAHO and WYOMING to RICH BROADCASTING, LLC's RP BROADCASTING LS, LLC for $3.7 million ($2.4 million cash, the rest in a promissory note). The stations include Triple A KMTN (THE MOUNTAIN), Alternative KZJH (KZ95), Country KJAX, Country KSGT-A, and K242BU/JACKSON, WY; Classic Rock KECH-F, Smooth Jazz KYZK, and Triple A KSKI-F/SUN VALLEY, ID; Adult Hits KOUW (SAM 102.9)/ISLAND PARK, ID; K265DA/TETON VILLAGE, WY; K276DW/KETCHUM, ID; and K239AU and K281BH/DRIGGS, ID.
In other filings with the FCC, the previously-announced deal to transfer Classic Rock WAZL-A/HAZELTON, PA from PANORAMA PA, INC. to KEN "DOC" MEDEK's KMCS BROADCASTING LLC has been filed with a sale price of $30,000 plus an LMA before closing. As previously reported, MEDEK plans to launch an all-CHRISTMAS format stunt on NOVEMBER 3rd, followed by the NEW YEAR'S DAY launch of an Adult Hits "Playing Anything We Feel" format.

And NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY has filed to move FM translator W233BG/CINCINNATI to the tower of CBS affiliate WKRC-TV and CUMULUS Country WNNF (GREAT COUNTRY 94.1)-Classic Rock WOFX (THE FOX 92.5) for use rebroadcasting CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WKRC-A/CINCINNATI. The new facility would use .099 kw at 237 meters AMSL.
