A street sign at the entrance to the studios of BEASLEY Talk WRXK (96 K-ROCK)/FORT MYERS has been taken down, and, according to a report in the FORT MYERS NEWS-PRESS, the station is pointing to a host at an adjacent-market station as inspiring a listener to steal the sign.
The sign, posted about a month ago, dubs the entrance at the BEASLEY facility in ESTERO, FL "STAN AND HANEY Blvd." in honor of K-ROCK's afternoon team of STAN NAWALANIEC and MARK HANEY, and the report says a producer at the station told police that COX MEDIA GROUP Talk WHPT (102.5 THE BONE)/TAMPA host MIKE "COWHEAD" CALTA told his audience MONDAY that he would give prizes to whoever took the sign. The sign disappeared at some point between 6p TUESDAY and 11a WEDNESDAY.
No suspects have been named.
