Longtime music executive LARRY MILLER has been named EVP/GM for MEDIANET by CEO FRANK JOHNSON. MILLER is responsible for new service innovation in music and media rights management, partner acquisition, and revenue growth for the company, the largest B2B provider of global, licensed digital music and related data to streaming music apps, subscription services, download stores, and more. MILLER has over 25 years of music industry experience; most recently he was acting as an advisor to MAKEMUSIC, developers of FINALE music notation software as head of content strategy and advanced technology.
"LARRY brings an incredible depth of experience to MEDIANET, having been involved in some of the earliest experiments with the digital distribution of music at A2B MUSIC and RECIPROCAL, to running the extremely successful indie label and music publisher, OR MUSIC, as well as his extensive consulting work," said JOHNSON. "LARRY is one of the most well-regarded executives in the industry, and I look forward to working with him closely as we continue to expand MEDIANET's position as the leading B2B supplier of global digital music rights."
"It is amazing to think that back in 1999, A2B MUSIC showcased about 5 songs that could be downloaded. Now MEDIANET offers over 25 million tracks worldwide, and can handle everything from licensing, metadata, and royalty payments, to customer transaction processing and subscription information," said MILLER. "I'm excited to join with FRANK and his team at MEDIANET in finding ways to offer even more services to its current clients while expanding its global business."
