Boston's Legendary Alternative WFNX Rises From The Dead On Halloween

Re-Launching As WFNX.com

As first reported a few weeks ago (NET NEWS 10/8), PHOENIX MEDIA/COMMUNICATIONS GROUP, one of NEW ENGLAND’s largest, independently owned multi-media companies, has officially announced it will re-launch its legendary alternative station WFNX at WFNX.com and via the WFNX Mobile App. at the stroke of midnight on OCTOBER 31st.

With the re-launch, listeners can expect to tune into one of the most electrifying online streams in the country and to find creative programming that pushes the radio envelope beyond what WFNX did during its nearly 30 years on the FM dial. The new vision for wfnx.com is led by Exec. Producer KURT ST. THOMAS, a creative force and celebrated figure in the music and entertainment industries and a former leader of WFNX-FM from 1985-1997.

DJ 3001, dubbed the world’s first totally robotic DJ, will run air shifts from 5-9a and 6-10p. Is he a glorified iTUNES shuffle machine that wears pants, or a fully sentient disc jockey with a love of KRAFTWERK and UNDERWORLD?

WFNX will host a party at LANDSDOWNE PUB on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 30th and re-launch live from the party at midnight, rising from the dead when the clock strikes HALLOWEEN.
