A terrific article in THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS (11/5) talked about how the paper was bringing supplies to thousands of local residents via their own "relief trucks."
THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS dropped off warm clothes, blankets, water, diapers, nonperishable food and other supplies like cleaning supplies to make their homes livable again.
The paper's Chairman & Publisher MORTIMER ZUCKERMAN personally gave $100,000 from his own pocket to get things rolling and also acknowledged the MANHATTAN INSTITUTE and the others for their donations, "especially SIMON COWELL, JEFF WILPON and Z100's wonderful ELVIS DURAN."
ZUCKERMAN was referring to ELVIS' own personal donation of $30,000 to the cause, and the assistance from Z100 who was actively raising funds as well.
ELVIS DURAN GROUP spokesperson AMIR FORESTER told ALL ACCESS, "The $30,000 was a personal donation -- and ELVIS has also been asking his listeners to donate items. They brought MONDAY's donations to STATEN ISLAND. TODAY's donations will go to the JERSEY SHORE, and TOMORROW's donation will go to the ROCKAWAYS."
