Major Spanish-language broadcasters in the NEW YORK market have signed on as media partners for a Hurricane SANDY benefit concert featuring JUANES and JUAN LUIS GUERRA at BROOKLYN's new BARCLAYS CENTER. UNIVISION's Tropical WXNY (X 96.3), Spanish Talk WADO-A, Tropical WQBU (MAMI 92.7), UNIVISION affiliate WXTV (TV) (UNIVISION 41), and TELEFUTURA affiliate WFUT (TELEFUTURA 68); NBC UNIVERSAL TELEMUNDO affiliate WNJU-TV (TELEMUNDO 47); and SBS Tropical WSKQ-F (MEGA 97.9) and Spanish Rhythmic AC WPAT-F (LA NUEVA 93.1) are taking part in the event. The artists are donating all proceeds to the NOVEMBER 24th concert, co-produced by CARDENAS MARKETING NETWORK, to the AMERICAN RED CROSS.
“SuperStorm SANDY has devastated the lives of many people and we are eager to work with the Red Cross,” said CARDENAS MEDIA NETWORK CEO/Pres. and MAESTRO CARES FOUNDATION co-founder HENRY CARDENAS. “We invite music goers and the community to support this cause and provide comfort to those who have lost so much."
“Coming to the aid of our local communities be it with information or relief is what companies should do – and it is who we are,” said UNIVISION RADIO Pres. JOSE VALLE. “We salute JUAN LUIS GUERRA and JUANES for helping raise much needed funds through this benefit concert in BROOKLYN. That is why we are leveraging all of our assets, including TV, radio and digital, to support their efforts -- because we know that working together we will have a greater impact on our community.”
SBS NEW YORK VP/Sales ERIC GARZA added, “We encourage our listeners and viewers in the UNITED STATES to help out with this extraordinary concert with JUANES and JUAN LUIS GUERRA in NEW YORK CITY, in support for the thousands of people affected by SuperStorm SANDY.”
