PRIETO BROADCASTING, INC. is transferring Regional Mexican WDUR-A/DURHAM, NC back to former owner TRIANGLE SPORTS BROADCASTERS, LLC. The filing's copies of the sale contract are damaged and not viewable in the FCC database, but PRIETO previously filed to transfer Regional Mexican WETC-A (LA REGIA 540)/WENDELL-ZEBULON, NC back to former owner MARTA O. SANCHEZ's SANCHEZ BROADCASTING CORP. for cancellation of the $1.4 million debt owed to SANCHEZ's CAROLINA REGIONAL BROADCASTING CORP.
In other filings with the FCC, BIRACH BROADCASTING CORP. has requested an extension of its Silent STAs for WBVA-A/BAYSIDE, VA and WVAB-A/VIRGINIA BEACH while it seeks a solution to the problem of the city's directing that the stations' short pole temporary antenna be shut down.
PARTNERSHIP MINISTRIES, INC., D/B/A PASSION COMMUNICATIONS has closed on the sale of Contemporary Christian-Top 40 WPRJ (101.7 RADIOU)/COLEMAN, MI and FM translator W244BS/ALMA, MO to SPIRIT COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $100,000
The long-delayed closing never came, so MAGIC BROADCASTING has notified the FCC that the sale of Rhythmic AC KDAY/REDONDO BEACH (LOS ANGELES) and KDEY/ONTARIO, CA to JOHN HEARNE and WARREN CHANG's SOCAL 935 LLC for $35 million has been called off. The sale was filed with the Commission in DECEMBER 2010 and MAGIC filed a notice of non-consummation on FRIDAY (11/16).
And ALASKA FEDERATION FOR COMMUNITY SELF RELIANCE has closed on the transfer of the construction permit for noncommercial FM KRFF/FAIRBANKS, AK to ATHABASCAN FIDDLERS ASSOCIATION, INC. Consideration was listed as "The parties acknowledge that their respective undertakings and commitments herein, designed to ensure the provision of noncommercial educational radio programming that includes locally-focused programming on the Station, constitute sufficient consideration for this Agreement."
