Jim Isabella Tapped For Evenings At WNIR

MEDIA-COM Talk WNIR/AKRON has filled the evening slot left vacant by the passing of TOM ERICKSON by naming frequent substitute host JIM ISABELLA to the post, starting TODAY (11/29).  ISABELLA, a veteran of newspaper work at the AKRON BEACON JOURNAL and suburban CLEVELAND's SUN NEWSPAPERS, will host 7-11p weeknights and 4-7p SATURDAYs.

A release from owners BOB and BILL KLAUS said that ISABELLA "was a friend of the late HOWIE CHIZEK, WNIR’s legendary talk show host who passed away suddenly on June 16th , and he enjoyed calling HOWIE’s show on a regular basis. 

During the past summer JIM’s substitution role was greatly expanded as he helped the station navigate the voids left by the sudden illness of TOM ERICKSON followed by the sudden death of HOWIE CHIZEK. From that exposure WNIR’s audience became much more familiar with JIM’s talents and the KLAUS brothers received a significant amount of positive feedback urging them to find a permanent full time position for JIM."
