Vanguard To Spearhead Industry-Wide Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort

Ongoing Need

The folks at VANGUARD RECORDS are working across media outlets, management teams and labels to help fellow Americans affected by HURRICANE SANDY.  There will be an ongoing need for assistance from the storm and it’s important to keep this need alive in the minds of listeners to remind them that the work continues.

Their efforts include:

* Have artists record video messages along the lines of "thank you for donating to SANDY relief efforts -- every dollar makes a difference - please encourage your friends to get involved as well" and then perform a song.

* Collecting videos and adding links to aid organizations (such as TUNNEL TO TOWERS FOUNDATION, RED CROSS, HUMANE SOCIETY, ROBIN HOOD RELIEF FUND). If participating artist has preferred organization, we'll definitely include that as well.

* Create a YOUTUBE playlist of videos from all participating artists, stations and media outlets.

* Work with interested stations and media outlets to share online banners and on-air copy saying: "Have you donated to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts? Click HERE for special thank you performances from today’s biggest artists!"

VANGUARD Senior Director/Nat Promotion AYAPPA BIDANNDA said, "Since so many artists visit radio stations on a daily basis for performances, we'd love for programmers to consider asking those artists if they'd want to participate since all components would already be in place at the station (artist availability and filming capability). Artists would just need to share a short intro sentence along the lines of, ‘Thank you for donating to HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF efforts -- here’s a special thank you from us’ followed by the performance. The video file should be sent to SandyMusicRelief@gmail.com for uploading from a neutral party that credits appropriate artist, station, and label with links to charity organizations and adds to the growing playlist of related videos."
