CRS 2013 Rusty Walker Scholarship Winners Announced

COUNTRY RADIO SEMINAR (CRS) has announced this year’s RUSTY WALKER SCHOLARSHIP winners, who will receive an all-expenses paid trip and complimentary registration for CRS 2013, to be held in NASHVILLE from WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 27^th until FRIDAY, MARCH 1^st.

The three inaugural winners of the scholarships are NORTHSTAR PROPERTIES LLC Country WHKB/HOUGHTON, MI GM JEFF HARJU, IDA-VEND COMPANY, INC. Country KMOK/LEWISTON, ID air personality CYNTHIA HAYWARD and FOXFUR COMMUNICATIONS Country WOLF/SYRACUSE, NY Promotions Dir. COURTNEY SMITH.

“The RUSTY WALKER SCHOLARSHIP program stands not only to honor the legacy of one of the Country radio community’s most respected and influential members, but also to extend a helping hand to those coming up through the ranks,” said CRS Exec. Dir. BILL MAYNE.  “What better way to pay tribute to RUSTY, who helped so many people throughout his long and prolific career?  We are proud and excited to welcome JEFF, CYNTHIA and COURTNEY to their first CRS!”

The RUSTY WALKER SCHOLARSHIP program was created in 2012 to honor COUNTRY RADIO HALL OF FAME member RUSTY WALKER, who passed away in MAY, 2012.
