The winner of the "Hometown Hero" competition to determine the unsigned artist or band to play live at the pre-event to CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK's JINGLE BALL concert is THE ALL WAYS, a band from NEW YORK which will appear on the Z100 and COCA-COLA All Access Lounge at the HAMMERSTEIN BALLROOM on FRIDAY (12/7). THE ALL WAYS beat out 255 other contestants for the honor. The contest was conducted using EVENTFUL's "DEMAND IT!" social media service.
Lead vocalist AUSTIN MASSIMAN said, “We love playing music and it’s really hard for any rock band to get in the public eye these days. It’s also difficult to book venues in New York City. We believe in our sound, we signed up for the Z100 Hometown Hero competition and we can’t wait to get on stage and do our thing. We’re not bringing rock n’ roll back- we’re bringing it forward.”
The band played acoustic sets on the NYU campus and directed people to vote for them via EVENTFUL. Drummer ANDRE JEVNKI also got credit for pulling in votes; he said, “I never left the computer; I messaged every friend, fan and family member we had on Facebook and Twitter asking for votes. Our fans were amazing- it went viral."
“We are really excited for THE ALL WAYS band- with their determination, they deserve to win the third annual Hometown Hero competition,” said EVENTFUL CEO JORDAN GLAZIER. “We’ve enjoyed working with Z100 and their commitment to give unsigned artists such a wonderful opportunity. There’s no better way than to introduce great, new talents and bring fans into the process- allowing them to decide who will experience the next level of success.”
