BCA Sports XEPRS-A (XX 1090)/SAN DIEGO morning team DAVE PALET and JEFF DOTSETH have exited the station.
PALET tweeted late SUNDAY night, "Sorry to say, "The DAVE AND JEFF Show" is no longer the morning show on XX1090. Thanks to everyone who supported us. We enjoyed every day!" DOTETH tweeted, "FYI: I have left my post at 1090. Had a great time and worked with some really good people. See ya down the road." And on FACEBOOK, DOTSETH added, "FYI: Tonight I resigned from XX 1090. Working with PALET is the best job in the world. When that was no longer going to be an option, I decided to walk away. Thank you to my incredible wife who is more concerned than she is letting on, but once again has given me her full support in times of change."
SDRADIO.NET is reporting that midday host LEE "HACKSAW" HAMILTON is moving to morjings to replace PALET and DOTSETH.
And the other shoe appears to be about to drop at XX 1090, as U-T SAN DIEGO is reporting that the station's longtime former morning show with SCOTT KAPLAN and BILLY RAY SMITH is ticketed for afternoons on the station. KAPLAN and SMITH, let go in FEBRUARY in a controversy over KAPLAN's remarks about a cable sports network host, have been hosting an online TV show for the paper, The U-T, citing "sources with knowledge of the situation," reports that current afternoon host DARREN SMITH will move to noon-3p, and current middayers JOSH ROSENBERG and CHAROD WILLIAMS will exit, while the station "is expected" to pick up JIM ROME's show when it moves from PREMIERE (for which it airs at crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL Sports KLSD-A (XTRA SPORTS 1360)) to CBS SPORTS NETWORK in JANUARY.
