Illinois Stations Return To Air After Fire In Old Transmitter Building

MILLER MEDIA GROUP Talk WHOW-A-W222BG-F and Adult Standards WEZC/CLINTON, IL were knocked off the air FRIDAY by a fire that destroyed the stations' former transmitter building and transmission cables that ran through the building.
The stations returned to the air SATURDAY after emergency repairs by engineers WAYNE R. MILLER and JEREMY RUCK and tower climber BRIAN BAKER, with the station's DEWITT DAILY NEWS website reporting that WEZC came back with low power at 11:45a (CT) and W222BG back at full power at 2:40p, while WHOW itself came back at reduced power at 4:30p.
WEZC is expected to return to full power within 30 days, with the AM signal back to full power within 60 days.
