WRKO/Boston's DePetro Gets Pulled Off Air Two Days For Slur

The BOSTON HERALD reports that ENTERCOM Talk WRKO-A/BOSTON midday host JOHN DEPETRO has been pulled off the air for two days and ordered to apologize for calling the head of the controversial "Big Dig" project a "fag."

The paper quotes DEPETRO as calling "Big Dig" head MATT AMORELLO "Fag MATT," adding "And I don’t mean gay fag, I just mean the way when you’re a sophomore, juvenile, in grammar school and somebody would say you’re like a sissy boy fag. I don’t mean gay fag. I mean like sissy boy. He’s a little sissy boy. Wife wears the pants." AMORELLO, who is married, is under fire for the ceiling collapse in a "Big Dig" tunnel that killed a woman last week..

"This corporation has zero tolerance for racial intolerance. Mr. DEPETRO has 72 hours to think about it," VP of Programming JASON WOLFE told the HERALD. 

"RADIO EQUALIZER" blogger and talk host BRIAN MALONEY steps in to fill in for DEPETRO on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY.
