BRUCE BOND is back, at least in a fill-in capacity, as he sits in TODAY (8/9) in the vacant afternoon slot at CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WHP-A/HARRISBURG, one of the candidates trying out for the slot vacated by the retired BOB DURGIN.
BOND, the former afternoon host at CUMULUS Hot AC WNNK (WINK 104), served time in prison for his role in a version of the Nigerian check scam, having pleaded guilty to charges of using stolen bank account information in the $4.3 million operation.
BOND, who left WNNK in 2002 to move to NEW YORK, told the HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS that he would talk about his legal troubles, saying, "I like to put that in my past, but that's part of who I am. I'm sure it will come up. I'm sure there will be a lot of people who will love to bring that up and it will make them happy about themselves. ... People'll hear me trying to throw some gasoline on the fire and they'll strike back with that, like that will somehow hurt me... There are also a lot of little stories with that experience."
