JASON MILLER of LIONCHASER ENTERTAINMENT and his wife ANNA have faced the battle of their lives since their son IAN MILLER was born six years ago.
Just months after he was born, IAN was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, and doctors at VANDERBILT HOSPITAL in NASHVILLE performed surgery to remove the growth. Within a few short months the tumor reappeared almost twice as big as before, and a second surgery was required at ST. JUDE in MEMPHIS. In the years that have followed, IAN has undergone multiple chemo, radiation and photon treatments in a full-scale effort to eradicate the cancer.
The malignancy, fortunately, has not returned, but the various treatments have caused other problems, including a blockage of IAN's carotid artery. This blockage is severely hampering the blood flow to the brain, and significantly increases the danger of a stroke. And while ST. JUDE has helped with lots of the medical expenses, there continues to be a huge financial strain on the MILLER family as they move forward.
JASON gives ALL ACCESS an update on IAN's health: "We've not talked about this much yet, but since coming back from ST. JUDE, we're battling a little harder for IAN. While the latest scans showed no tumor regrowth, they did show that the stenosis of his interior carotid artieries has gotten worse. This is worrisome news due to increased chance of stroke. We mentioned his issues with dizziness/fatigue, and they ran some more tests. We left making an appointment for an angiogram on AUGUST 26th to study this blood flow issue."
"On WEDNESDAY (8/7), IAN had a stroke. It was a small one, but definitely a stroke. His left hand and arm curled up and he couldn't use it. It was very upsetting to him and, of course, ANNA who was with him at the time. We've talked to numerous doctors since, and there's not much we can do but watch him and try a few precautionary things while we wait for AUGUST 26th to get here. They are just too busy to move us up."
"All this said, please keep IAN in your prayers, and for ANNA and I as we try to do what is best for IAN. We need for IAN to not suffer another stroke, for his brain to create more ways to get blood to the parts that are lacking, and for another miracle."
