Condolences to family and friends of former ST. CLOUD, gN radio station owner ANDY HILGER, who died SUNDAY (8/18) at 83, according to the PAVEK MUSEUM OF BROADCASTING.
HILGER, who started as a DJ at WJON-A, ultimately bought the station in 1965 and owned WWJO, KKJM, KMXK, and WJON CABLEVISION as well before selling WJON, WWJO, and KMXK to REGENT in 1999 and later donating KKJM to the CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF ST. CLOUD.
He was inducted into the MINNESOTA Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2006.
