As of this week (8/19), EMERSON COLLEGE’s WERS/BOSTON has increased its Triple A programming by 29 hours a week.
Triple A programming will now run between 2a and 10p on WEEKDAYS, and between 4-10p on WEEKENDS. The Secret Spot (R&B, soul) will take over every WEEKNIGHT from 10p-2a.
This does mean that some programs have been cut, including The Left End (alternative.), Rockers (reggae), 88.9 @ Night (hip-hop), the Coffee House (folk, acoustic, Americana), and Revolutions (RPM, electronic). As reported a few weeks ago (see JULY 29th story here) the station welcomed its first ever professional DJ, GEORGE KNIGHT, as morning host and station mentor.
MD ANTHONY HEINZE said, “These changes have taken place to provide a more consistent format for our listeners, and to continue competing as one of the top Triple A stations in the country. It's an exciting time to work at WERS, and I look forward to seeing where these changes will take us!”
