UMG Nabs 9 Of Top 10 Digital Single Sales

UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP (UMG) has set a new industry record by landing nine of the Top 10 best-selling Digital Songs in the U.S on the BILLBOARD chart dated AUGUST 31st, based upon NIELSEN SOUNDSCAN’s sales data for the week ending AUGUST 18th. They are KATY PERRY’s “Roar” (CAPITOL) at #1; ROBIN THICKE’s “Blurred Lines” (STAR TRAK/INTERSCOPE) at #2; LADY GAGA’s “Applause” (STREAMLINE/INTERSCOPE) debuts at #3; JAY Z featuring JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE’s “Holy Grail” (ROC NATION) at #4, LUKE BRYAN’s “That’s My Kind Of Night” (CAPITOL RECORDS NASHVILLE) at #5' AVICII ‘s “Wake Me Up” (PRMD/ISLAND) at #7, IMAGINE DRAGONS’ “Radioactive” (KIDINAKORNER/INTERSCOPE) at #8; LANA DEL REY’s “Summertime Sadness” (POLYDOR/INTERSCOPE) at #9, and LORDE’s “Royals” (LAVA/REPUBLIC) at #10.
