  Condolences to family and friends of longrime NBC and CBS television news reporter/anchor LEW WOOD, who died of kidney failure WEDNESDAY (8/21) at 84 in RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA.
  
  WOOD, who was news anchor for several years at NBC O&O WNBC-TV/NEW YORK and on NBC's "TODAY" show in 1975 before leaving the business to work in public relations, began his career at WDZ-A/DECATUR, IL and WSBT-A and WSBT-TV/SOUTH BEND, IN.
