CH HOLDINGS Talk-Sports KTRS-A/ST. LOUIS has pulled commercials from TEXAS Governor RICK PERRY pitching MISSOURI businesses to move to TEXAS off the air.
The commercials are similar to spots TEXAS is running in CALIFORNIA to the same effect, but the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH's JOE HOLLEMAN reports that KTRS GM MARK DORSEY said that the spots were initially accepted "under the assumption these commercials were going to promote tourism to TEXAS" but that the spots were suspended once management "realized these commercials were instead focused on stealing locally owned companies away from ST. LOUIS."
The ads are running on other stations in MISSOURI, and PERRY's spokesperson LUCY NASHED told HOLLEMAN, "All across the country, Gov. PERRY has taken the same message -- that states competing against each other benefits everyone by creating jobs and promoting economic freedom. MISSOURI’s success is important to our economic strength as a nation, and if TEXAS can push MISSOURI to implement more competitive economic policies, we all benefit."
