FRIDAY was officially "JOHNNY B. Day" in the state of ILLINOIS, as Governor PAT QUINN stopped by TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO to honor morning man JONATHON BRANDMEIER, who is moving from WGN's broadcast signal to the new online WGN.FM stream and possibly to an FM signal to be named later.
The proclamation calls BRANDMEIER "a radio superstar whose humor, indomitable spirit, and sharp wit have captivated listeners across CHICAGO and the nation" and cites BRANDMEIER's band JOHNNY AND THE LEISURE SUITS for working with QUINN "to send pizzas to soldiers in IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN through the 'Pizzas for Patriots” project.'"
