The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC has donated $700,000 to their charitable arm, ACM LIFTING LIVES. The contribution was possible due to the success of the "ACM PRESENTS: TIM McGRAW’s SUPERSTAR SUMMER NIGHT" CBS-TV concert special that aired on SUNDAY, MAY 19th (NET NEWS 5/9). The money was given on behalf of the artists that participated in the event.
The special featured performances by TIM McGRAW, JASON ALDEAN, DIERKS BENTLEY, LUKE BRYAN, BRANTLEY GILBERT, FAITH HILL, TAYLOR SWIFT, KEITH URBAN, FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE, LADY ANTEBELLUM, THE BAND PERRY, JOHN FOGERTY and Hip Hop artists NELLY, NE-YO and PITBULL.
"ACM Lifting Lives has done so much in the past several years with the monies raised from ACM specials, from music therapy in hospitals to tornado relief in Oklahoma," said ACM CEO BOB ROMEO. "The Academy is proud to support the good work of the organization."
