CURB artist NATALIE GRANT is scheduled to perform today on the steps of the LINCOLN MEMORIAL as part of the LET FREEDOM RING commemoration, 11-4p ET on ABC. 50 years ago, DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. delivered his iconic "I Have A Dream" speech on the very same spot.
Also on the docket to participate are BEBE, MARVIN & CARVIN WINANS, MINISTER WINTLEY PHIPPS, LEANN RIMES, IDENTITY4POP, and folk singers PETER YARROW & PAUL STOOKEY, who performed at the original March in 1963.
"My father wanted his 'I Have A Dream' speech to inspire us to celebrate our common humanity",” said KING CENTER CEO/BERNICE A. KING. "Together with people across AMERICA and the world, we will pause to affirm the unity of people of all races, religions and nations, celebrating the anniversary of my father’s speech with moments of reverence, moments of introspection and moments of joy."
Pres. BARACK OBAMA along with former Pres. BILL CLINTON and Pres. JIMMY CARTER will deliver remarks and honor DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. by ringing bells at 3p ET, a half-century to the very minute after DR. KING delivered his historic address.
