CHICAGO media reporter ROBERT FEDER is reporting that WENDY SNYDER is being reunited with her old on-air partner BILL LEFF to host middays 9a-noon (CT) at TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO starting next week.
SNYDER has resigned from CUMULUS Talk WLS-A, where she was serving as morning traffic reporter; LEFF has been hosting late-nights at WGN. They were paired for evenings on Classic Rock WLUP in 1994 and later moved to Alternative WKQX (Q101) for mornings in 1996-98.
"It's one of the best pairings to ever happen on the radio," New WGN VP/Creative Content TODD MANLEY told FEDER. "It was just about to explode [at Q101], and here we find ourselves in a place where we can breathe new life into it and watch it grow. They're two really special people who have great stories to tell about their life together on the radio and since then."
The station also confirmed the rest of its previously reported lineup starting TUESDAY (9/3), including STEVE COCHRAN in mornings, BOB SIROTT and MARIANNE MURCIANO noon-3p, GARRY MEIER remaining in the 3-7p slot, DAVID KAPLAN 7-11p, PETE MCMURRAY 11p-2a, and NICK DIGILIO 2-5a. Also confirmed was the return of KATHY O'MALLEY and JUDY MARKEY for SATURDAYS 10a-noon. Other weekend lineup changes for SATURDAY include "THE DESIGN DUDE WITH FRANK FONTANA" 6-7a, "MR. FIX-IT WITH LOU MANFREDINI" 7-10a, and BILL MOLLER noon-3p. On SUNDAYS, the station is adding the CHICAGO TRIBUNE's RICK PEARSON 7-9a, DEAN RICHARDS will expand his show to 9a-1p, MOLLER will return for 1-3p, BRIAN NOONAN remains 6-9p, RICK KOGAN will host 9-11p, and PATTI VASQUEZ will air 11p-2a. And the station will add "720 SNACKABLES," features on air and online including some of the station's "family of experts" like RICHARDS, lawyer KAREN CONTI, book reviewer STEVE BERTRAND, pet expert STEVE DALE, and more.
