With the kickoff of the NFL regular season TONIGHT (9/5), WESTWOODONE and ESPN RADIO have unveiled their plans to cover the season.
WESTWOODONE's NFL coverage will include 51 regular season games, all post-season games, the NFC and AFC Championships, and the SUPER BOWL. The syndicator will offer its regular weekly SUNDAY doubleheaders, plus MONDAY, SUNDAY, and THURSDAY night games and a THANKSGIVING DAY doubleheader.
“We have been proud partners of the NFL for more than four decades,” said WESTWOODONE CEO PAUL CAINE. “This partnership is a true testament to our dedication to our clients and advertisers, as well as our ability to deliver top-quality coverage to one of the most dedicated fan bases on the planet. WESTWOODONE's broadcast teams for SUNDAY doubleheader games will include TOM MCCARTHY with ROD WOODSON and DAVE SIMS with MARK MALONE. KEVIN HARLAN will call MONDAY night games with either BOOMER ESIASON or DAN FOUTS handling analysis and JIM GRAY as studio host; KEVIN KUGLER and JAMES LOFTON will call SUNDAY night games with SCOTT GRAHAM hosting; and IAN EAGLE and TRENT GREEN will call THURSDAY night games, with GRAHAM hosting. PATRIOTS Quarterback TOM BRADY and CARDINALS receiver LARRY FITZGERALD will join GRAY for the MONDAY night pre-game show.
Meanwhile, ESPN RADIO will air SUNDAY afternoon out-of-market games with the NEW YORK GIANTS, NEW YORK JETS, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS, PITTSBURGH STEELERS, and MIAMI DOLPHINS with SEAN MCDONOUGH, BILL ROSINSKI, MARC KESTECHER, and RYAN RUOCCO handling play-by-play and HERM EDWARDS, BILL POLIAN, DAMIEN WOODY, and SHAUN O'HARA serving as analysts.
