Having reverted its name from the CONNECTICUT WHALE to the HARTFORD WOLF PACK, the HARTFORD AHL minor league hockey franchise has announced that CLEAR CHANNEL Sports WPOP-A (FOX SPORTS RADIO 1410)/HARTFORD will air the team's game broadcasts this season in a two-year deal between GLOBAL SPECTRUM, marketer of the team and operator of the XL CENTER arena, and CLEAR CHANNEL. BOB CRAWFORD will return for his 17th year calling the action for the franchise, which moved from BINGHAMTON in 1997 to fill the gap left when the NHL's HARTFORD WHALERS left for NORTH CAROLINA.
“We are excited to have WOLF PACK games on FOX SPORTS RADIO 1410 WPOP-AM,” said XL CENTER GM CHRIS LAWRENCE. ”Not only will the local fan base be able to listen to our games on FOX SPORTS RADIO 1410 WPOP-AM, but anyone across the country can tune in via iHEARTRADIO. FOX SPORTS RADIO and CCM+E/HARTFORD are just as passionate as we are about the WOLF PACK and we are happy to have them in our corner.”
