BONNEVILLE Talk KIRO-F/SEATTLE afternoon "RON AND DON SHOW" news anchor TONY MINER has exited his full-time position and is transitioning to part-time work at the station. WEDNESDAY was MINER's last full-time day on the air, although he will continue as a fill-in anchor.
MINER, a 22-year radio vet, told the station's JOSH KERNS that "I look upon it as a transition to more of a part-time thing here, filling in across the board, doing some commercial work, and just not doing the five day a week grind and coming down all the way from the MINER Ranch in the SKAGIT VALLEY every day." He added, "I'm not going away, I'm not calling it semi-retirement. I'm sort of transitioning to doing less. I'm looking forward to it."
Co-host RON UPSHAW tweeted, "Last day for @newsbigT as our full time anchorman. It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway - Tony is the best."
