As the days grow longer, the THIRD ANNUAL NO SHAVE NOVEMBER effort benefitting ST. JUDE CHILDREN’s RESEARCH HOPSITAL grows nearer.
For 2013, the emphasis will be on teams to represent artists, radio stations, air personalities and companies. Each team will encourage as many men (or women) to join for a minimum $30 donation toward ST. JUDE. Last year’s effort generated more than $138,000.
THOMPSON SQUARE’s KEIFER THOMPSON has been named honorary Chairman of the Beard for 2013 and is hoping lead his team to another victory following last year’s triumph.
“This has to be the most absurdly wonderful recognition I've received to date," said THOMPSON, last year's top fundraising artist. "For No Shave November to have raised so much money to further the tremendous work of ST. JUDE CHILDREN's RESEARCH HOSPITAL is something every participant should be incredibly proud of. At the same time, for all of us to have done it by spending a month as a sloth is pretty ridiculous. I'm actually not sure if I'm honored to be the scraggly face of this thing or not.”
ALL ACCESS is a media partner for 2013 but NASHVILLE Editor RJ CURTIS, the defending “GROOMSMAN” award winner from last year, is seeking volunteers to join his "Hair Apparent" team, saying, “NO SHAVE NOVEMBER is the kind of charitable effort that really grows on you; I encourage others to join me in doing practically nothing to help this important cause.”
