GEORGE T. BUNDY's BRS MEDIA INC. has relaunched its RADIO FORWARD website to protest the possibility of ICANN awarding the .radio domain as a "Closed Restrictive Community" to GENEVA-based CORE, a non-radio company. BRS MEDIA sells domain registrations like .fm to radio stations and companies and is a competitor to CORE for the rights to the domain; the company contends that restricting the .radio domain would prevent industry entities from using it.
“The very future of RADIO online is at stake. A statement you don’t hear often or truly believe, unfortunately in this case is very real and valid,” BUNDY said in a press release. “History does repeat itself, the attack to limit or restrict RADIO Online is no different than, and draws many parallels to, digital copyright issues in the 90’s.”
